RA - 20-Year-Old Chris Duplessis Wins Group 2 National Title at Rally Colorado

Driving the Team O’Neil/Go Fast Sports Group 2 Volkswagen, Christopher Duplessis took home a class win and his first national championship at round eight of the Rally America national championship, Rally Colorado.

20-year-old Duplessis in his first season of running national rallies needed just one more first place finish to claim his first Rally America national championship. “Going into this event the plan was to play it safe and focus on a good finish,” said Chris.

Christopher’s regular co driver Martin Headland was unable to make the rally. The team called upon the experience of veteran co driver Kim Demotte to sit along side the young star. This move seemed to pay off from the start. As Duplessis and Demotte settled in, they set fast stage times on all but one stage in the group 2 class. “It was really nice to be able to have someone who’s had good results at this rally and knows what to expect. I had a great time with Kim and the results show,” said Chris.



With the help of Denver-based Go Fast Sports and Team O’Neil Rally School, the team took its first national championship and fifth win in five starts for the 2007 season.

Now that the championship is wrapped up, Chris and team look foward to the last event, Lake Superior Pro Rally, held in Houghton MI as a chance to relax a bit. “The pressure’s off and Lake Superior will be a chance to let it all hang out,” says Chris “and with the addition of Max Attack the competition in 2wd should be fierce!”
